Dragonlords of Dumnonia
Special Awards

(Revised 7/24/00)

This page contains special awards that are given out at L.A. Malcor's discretion. These awards cannot be applied for.

The images on this page are samples. The real awards are e-mailed to recipients. Duplication and/or theft of these awards is a copyright violation and will be reported.

Dragonheart Award

This award is only presented to those sites that L.A. Malcor deems most worthy. The winning sites adhere in spirit to the Basic Rules of Dragonlords of Dumnonia. They usually have something to do with Dragons, and they offer something more than a homepage or a page of links (usually aids for webdesign or for writers). Awardees are not required to link the award back to Dragonlords, although it is appreciated if they do <g>.

The image on this page is a sample. The real award is e-mailed to recipients. Duplication and/or theft of this award is a copyright violation and will be reported.

The image on the Dragonheart award is the eyes of a Dragon in humanform. On L.A. Malcor's world, shapeshifted Dragons can tell each other from natural humans because they can see the Dragons in each other's eyes (There is the image of a Dragon reflected in each eye.). Only Dragons and Dragonhearts (half-Dragon, half-Dumnonian's whose dragonblood runs strong) can see the "inner" Dragons.

Dragonheart Awardees

These sites have been honored with the Dragonheart Award and are authorized to display the image on their sites:

  1. BoingDragon's Lair
  2. Here Be Dragons!
  3. SweetMemories Gallery
  4. Dragon Isle
  5. Turki Amer

Valley Walker Award

This award is only to very special people who find themselves confronted with great adversity. Awardees are not required to link the award back to Dragonlords.

The Valley of Ancients is the most holy site in Dumnonia. The ashes of the dead cover the Valley floor, and the bronze doors that lead into Corin's Tomb are set into the walls. The Valley is the meeting site of the Council of Ancients, and it is where all Dragonriders come to be judged and to Bond with their Dragons. Walking the length of the Valley is one of the bravest acts any Dumnonian can perform. The concept of the Valley of Ancients is modeled in part off the 23rd Psalm, verse 4: "Yea though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for thou art with me."

Dragonheart Awardees

These sites have been honored with the Valley Walker Award and are authorized to display the image:

  1. Chad's Prayerbook

Dragonlords will eventually be offering one award that can be applied for and another award that can be self-claimed. Please check back to see when these offers become available.
