Greetings!
This rotation I thought I'd take the opportunity to talk a bit about fighting patterns on the Other Continent, since our e-mail RP is taking place on a night when Krin's century is assigned to battle duty.
The three centuries on the Other Continent stay in their Base Camps year-round rather than rotating to the King's Camp and a front-line camp. This change was made necessary by the damp, cold climate of the Other Continent, which can adversely affect the health of the Dumnonian Bronzes if they live in it for too long.
The peak at the western end of the southern range of mountains in Tramson Castle's territory is not a permanent camp. The mountain is not a volcano, nor is it within Geron Firelord's range of control. It would be impossible for Dumnonian Bronzes to live there year round. It is a place designated for use by the Dragonriders, but none of the centuries live there. The location is distinct enough that Pairs can warp to when advancing to the front line, and it's a haven where they can retreat if they become exhausted or injured in battle. The mountain has also been adapted to serve quite nicely as a nightly base from which the Dumnonians can patrol the border and mount attacks.
The base is strictly a military site, and no non-essential personnel are permitted in the camp. Healers are stationed there on a rotating basis, and all three Other Continent centuries are responsible for keeping the front-line camp supplied with herbs, bandages, and other necessities. Mercenaries are employed to guard the site, and four Dragonriders from the century responsible for the front line defense during the current rotation maintain a constant watch. The front-line camp is off limits to members of the clergy of the various Dumnonian religions except for those individuals who are Dragons or Riders. A few Beast Guilders are present to tend to Dragon injuries and the mercenaries' animals. Some Tailors, Leather Guilders, and Smiths join the Dragonriders on their nightly campaigns to help with emergency repairs. A few Cooks make sure that plenty of water and food is available for the Dragons and Riders. Several Hunters are also on site to help collect fresh meat for the Dragons. These Guilders can stay in temporary barracks that are set up at the front-line camp. They usually rotate up to the line on a nightly basis, however, because they are currently in short supply on the Other Continent, and their skills are needed at their century's base camp.
One cavern of the front-line camp is designated as an infirmary. This location is for emergency care only. As soon as a patient is cleared for transport, he is moved to the Healer's Enclave for his century. Another cavern is set aside for shelter of resting Pairs, and a third is designated for strategy meetings by the Dragonlords and Lord Janix.
Otherwise the site is relatively undeveloped. It may see more changes as the Other Continent centuries assess their needs, but, for now, the Dragonlords have seen fit to keep things simple.

These positions still need to be filled. We'd really appreciate the help!
Contact Dragonlord Krin at Legend@malcor.com for more details.

We need stories and art for Awaken the Dragons!, the fanzine for Ryanon's Base Camp. The next deadline is June 30th (though we are currently still accepting stories for the March 31st issue--which is actually a double issue with the December 31st 'zine--my move seriously interfered with the amount of time I had to edit).
Send stories or poems to Lady Zara at amberfocus@hotmail.com. Artwork should be sent directly to Brass Dragon Majidah at SlideNSpin@aol.com. Remember, you need to file a release form with L.A. Malcor prior to the publication of the 'zine if you contribute text. (No release is necessary for artwork.) Release forms are available online at
Full submission guidelines are at
Please remember to send all submissions in ASCII or .TXT format.

"DRAGONPROPHET" PUBLISHED!
The first of the Centuria stories was published online by Eternity Magazine.
"Dragonprophet" has been nominated for Best Story of the Year for Eternity Magazine. Please vote for it, if you haven't already done so. If you have already voted, many thanks!
Also, remember that members of Dragonlords are entitled to read the completed, yet unpublished, Centuria stories. Contact Dragonlord Krin at Legend@malcor.com for your copies.
Other Publication News.
"Unfair Trade" has won fifth place in the Pulp Eternity Dragon Fiction contest.
From Scythia to Camelot, the nonfiction book about King Arthur that I coauthored with C. Scott Littleton, will be going into paperback. Estimated release date is September 1999, and the cover price will probably be somewhere around $25.95.

Dragonlords' T-shirt
Dragonlords has covered its expenses and is starting to earn enough money for us to do something fun for our members. The BOD has decided that what we would like to do with the extra money is subsidize T-shirts for all members of the club (We may be able to buy the shirts outright for people; it depends on how many folks want them.).
If you would like to submit a design for the club T-shirt, send your
suggestion in .gif or .jpg format to Dragonlord Krin at Legend@malcor.com.
Try to keep your design suggestions to four colors or less, since
that will significantly cut our costs. Since we received no submissions
the first time we tried this, let's try it again
Until next forum,
