Oathblood Dear Misty Fans,

Coming in April from DAW: Oathblood, an all-new Tarma and Kethry novel plus Misty's complete collected short stories of these two brave sisters of sword and spell.

"Tarma--She was one of the Shin'a'in Swordsworn--the most elite of all warriors, and she had taken blood vengeance upon the brigands who had massacred her people . . .

"Kethry--She fled her oppressive arranged marriage and became a powerful sorceress of the White Winds School, only to be bonded to a uniquely magical sword which drew her to women in need . . .

"Bound together by sword-spell and the will of the Goddess, Tarma and Kethry swore a blood oath to carry on their mutual fight against evil and injustice.

"Now they have pledged to train others to fight for their cause, starting a new school for young would-be warriors and fledging White Winds mages. But training young fighters and wizards turns out to be far more complicated and perilous than they expected--and when two of their prize students are kidnapped, Tarma and Kethry must draw upon all of their combined skills to answer the call of their destiny in ways they never imagined!"

Oathblood has a beautiful Jody Lee cover and is a $6.99 paperback.

Hello from Herald Housemother:

Thank you all for your holiday cards, letters, and good wishes. This newsletter is being written well before my laser surgery, not because I'm superstitious, but because son Frank is here to teach me about columns, text boxes, and other strange and wonderful desk top publishing techniques. I like the way it looks, what do you think? The next issue may be different!

Look for Anne McCaffrey's The Masterharper of Pern this month, Barbara Hambly's Icefalcon's Quest in February, and Andre Norton's The Warding of Witch World.
