Heyla, Misty fans!

Happy St. Patrick’s Day to all you Irish (and honorary Irish ) folk out there! Hope all is going well with the lot of you. Do drop us a line and tell us what you are doing. We love to hear from you!

The Renaissance Pleasure Faire of Southern California (the one featured in Bedlam’s Bard) is going to be held April 16 - May 22, 2005, Saturdays and Sundays, at the Santa Fe Dam Recreation Area. Contact Danya at Legend@malcor.com if you are interested in getting a QO group together to attend.

Publication News: Sanctuary, the next installment in the Joust series, and the mass-market paperback edition of Alta should now be available in your bookstores. The hardcover edition of Ill Met By Moonlight, the next installment in the SERRAted Edge series (this one coauthored with Roberta Gellis) has also hit the shelves.

Mad Maudlin (with Rosemary Edghill) is still scheduled to arrive at bookstores in paperback in May.

The paperback of This Rough Magic (with Eric Flint and Dave Freer) should be available for purchase starting in June.

Bedlam’s Edge, the next installment in the Bedlam’s Bard series (coauthored with Rosemary Edghill), is still on track for release in August. Di Tregarde fans, look for the re-release of Children of the Night in August as well.

Thanks to all of you who support QO by making purchases through the Dragonlords’ Bookstore (http://www.dragonlordsnet.com/bkstore.htm). We really appreciate the help with the club’s expenses so that we can keep the memberships in QO free.

Chapter News: If you are the leader of a running chapter, please check your listing in the QO newsletter (below) to make sure that your information is accurate and up to date.

Hope all of you have a wonderful spring break/celebration/etc.!

Zhai'helleva,

Collegium News:

We have individual handouts for aspiring Heralds, Healers, Bards, Blues, Mercenaries, Tayledras, Shin'a'in, and White Winds Sorcerers/Sorceresses and instructions on how to work for Herald-Mage status if you are already a Herald or for a Kal'enedral if you are already a Shin'a'in. You can find these handouts online at http://www.dragonlordsnet.com/qohandouts.htm.

You need a release form (online at http://www.dragonlordsnet.com/qomlrel2.htm) if you write a story set in Misty's worlds or using any of her characters. You do not need a release for a character sketch, poem or filk. All Misty wants to do is protect her characters and her worlds. Send the release form (you do NOT need to include the story) to Misty c/o High Flight Arts and Letters, P.O. Box 2970, Claremore, OK 74017. Do NOT include the original of the release form with your persona material; send it to Misty. Send a copy to us.

All personae materials should be sent to the QO address or submitted by e-mail to Legend@malcor.com and healermoon@gmail.com.

If you were working on a persona who is no longer listed at http://www.dragonlordsnet.com/qochat.htm that means we have not heard from you in over a year. To revive your persona, simply message Danya at Legend@malcor.com and tell her that your persona is in "Deep Storage." She will pull it out for you and reactivate your submission.

If you are a returning member who has recently activated your membership in Queen’s Own and we have forgotten to list you, message Danya at Legend@malcor.com, and she’ll make sure you are greeted in the next newsletter.

Lost . . .

One of the challenges running an online club is that people don’t always leave a forwarding address when they move . We are missing current e-mail addresses for the following members:

If you know any of these folks, please have them contact Danya at Legend@malcor.com with a current e-mail address.

Little Girl by Devin Harris

From Healer Adept Moonstar:

I have been overwhelmed by personal events the last few months. My ex-husband's move to Malaysia has really made life challenging; however, I am very happy to say that the support I have received from Queen's Own folk has made my life so much easier. As many of you have probably guessed, and rightly pointed out, my Vanyel prints are much better here with me than anywhere else, though I know any of you would love them as much as I do. And for that I thank you so much.

I didn't really take into account how much work a Master's degree really is and for that I apologize to the many of you that I owe letters. My life is pretty much full with my homework and being sure that my son gets his homework done on time.

I have taken a few moments off to sneak to the movies, and I must say that Hitch was great, though I am not sure I would recommend it with casual daters <Grin>. I am excited for Bambi to be released to DVD and will be getting The Incredibles on the 15th. Have any of you seen any good movies lately? Write a review! I would love to see all you write something: a review, a story, a poem, your favorite recipe (Karen puts those into the Herald's Companion.).

I have noticed a bigger influx of personas, and I can hope you guys keep writing and keep our zines going. I have noticed many of the fanzines tapering off.

Hugs-

Moonstar
