Queen's Own/Merging of the Ways

The Official Mercedes Lackey Fan Club

Border ArtMark Shepherd, Lazerwarz Available 5/99 from Baen Books:

Lazerwarz by Mark Shepherd the third in the Elvendude series.

From Fast Food to Fast Lasers--Dobie's ambitions didn't extend much past working in fast food--until the Lazerwarz arena came to town. There he discovered the world of laser tag and, with it, a warrior's persona he never knew he possessed. Then a goddess in disguise picks him up in a shiny red Corvette, and the fireworks really get started.

Just to recap what was in the last newsletter, I will be putting new releases from Josepha Sherman, Mark Shepherd and Holly Lisle, and, of course, Misty herself, in the newsletters from now on! I've gotten good responses so far, so I'll keep the releases coming!

  • Herald Jaala stands on a table and claps her hands to gain the attention of he Herald's Revel: "OK folks, ,just a short commercial break to tell you about a wonderful chapter called Austral'a'in. It's two years old in November, and is open to new members not just from Australia (as the name implies) but, from the world over. We print loads of fanfic, as well as poems, reviews, artwork and whatever else is submitted!!" She grins impishly, flicking a dark lock of hair back from her face. "For your money, you get eight issues a year, of eight pages each. The costs are, for Australians, [Ed. note 2003: Out-of-date information withheld.]. For people overseas [Ed. note 2003: Out-of-date information withheld.]. We'd love to be able to charge the same for people all over the world, but we just can't afford it with the steep price of postage." Taking a bow, Herald Jaala sits. A slender woman, Healer Cinnamon, with long curly hair the colour of her name, stands. "She forgot to mention, that we also have a. 50 page fanzine full of fanfic and Misty related poems and artwork for sale at the same cost as a year's subscription to the newsletter. Tfae address for both is Austral'a'in C/0 Cassandra Vuksa [Ed. note 2003: Out-of-date address withheld.]. Thanks for listening!"

Well, since it's been dead a couple of years, I'm taking it over. The first issue was out. March first. Subscriptions cost 12 stamps/$4.00 for twelve issues.
